JUANMARQ
Juan Luis Márquez Flores, Huelva. Spanish Painter.
Juan Marq started panting at the age of 12. He was trained at “Faustino Rodríguez Painting School”, where he learned academic painting and the drawing bases. He was taught, among others, by Faustino Rodríguez , who founded the “Arte2 School”. He finished this first training period at ”León Ortega Art School”, in Huelva, where he finished his post-compulsory studies.
At the end of the 90s, he founded with the Macías Brothers the “MuCHOCOmi Association”, being a member of a group of young people interested in literature and illustration, collaborating as painter trainer in the most important comic associations in Spain. Later, he became a member of the “Onubenses Artists Association” (AAPOEM).
At the beginning of the new century, he started his degree in the Fine Arts University of Seville, where he specialized in painting and made contact with national artists. During this period he was influenced by the “Seville School”, being Velázquez his leading exponent.
After taking his degree in Fine Arts, he moved to Rome and visited other Italian cities such as Florence. Here, he learned from the Renaissance period and studied the classic artists. In 2012 he travelled to Paris, where he contacted avant-garde movements such as Impressionism.
He is the author of many works, and has made use of different techniques and formats, like digital design and photography, but without leaving aside realistic painting, being in this field the portrait and the panoramic cityscapes his most recurrent motifs, and characterized by the single-colour range.
